Historic Italian Dioiceus variety. The most cultivated and known in the past for the quality of long fiber derived. Can reach 7 m in height. -
Medium-late flowering monoiceus, French breed. Two varieties are ascribed to this type: the medium-flowering Santhica 27 and the slightly later-flowering Santhica 70. In terms of production they are similar even if Santhica 27 is more suitable for northern Europe while Santhica 70 can also be grown in lower latitudes such as northern Italy. -
Monoiceus late flowering, French breed. On average it produces 300 kg / ha of grain in Italy but in optimal conditions there are production peaks of 500 kg / ha. -
Late flowering dioiceus, Hungarian breed suitable for fiber and shives production as weel as floral biomass. On average it produces 500 Kg / Ha of grain, on average reaches 3 m in height showing good uniformity in the field. -
Probably the oldest European dioecious. Medium-late flowering, Hungarian breed suitable for production of fiber and shives, recently it has been used for the production of floral biomass. -
This is medium-flowering monoecious, French breed. On average it produces 300-500 kg / ha of grain in Italy but in optimal conditions there are production peaks of 800 kg / ha. -

Dioecious breed of Finnish origins, this is the only one among known varieties to be independent of photoperiod. -
This is a monoecious, Ukrainian breed that was later transferred to Germany and France where it is now being multiplied. Uzo31 is a very early variety with a very low branching tendency.
