Zenit

Zenit

This is an early-flowering monoecious, Romanian breed that ripens shortly after Secuieni Jubileu. It has a good tendency for branching and for this reason it is very suitable for grain production.

Description

t has a good tendency for branching and for this reason it is very suitable for grain production. The yield averages between 1 to 1.5 tons of seeds per hectare, but it keeps a moderate height and it rarely exceeds 2,5 meters. It produces a very compact flower rich in seeds. The oil content of the mature seed is about 30% of the weight, with an average weight of one thousand seeds (TSW) of 20-22g. Zenit is the best cultivar to produce dehulled seed. This variety produces a low amount of biomass (about 9 t / Ha) hence it is not suitable long fibers production. The short fiber content is around 25% of the stalk. Cannabinoid values are particularly low: THC is below 0.02% and CBD is below 0.5%. Together with the Secuieni Jubileu breed, these varieties are often chosen for grain production aimed at food and livestock use, and for production of oil and flour that comply with legal THC thresholds of ppm (parts per million). Sowing with a density between 15-35 Kg / Ha is recommended.
